Hello Everyone,
I am still looking and even had email contact with a guy that had one.
He Is a professional programmer and had a HHC until 1990 when he gave it away!
I asked him for contact information but he just said he has not had contact since 1991.
I wish he could have at least told me who he gave it to and last known city of residence occupation or anything that could be of use.
Well I am starting a web page for creation of a similar or locating the original Reference manual for Panasonic HHC SnapForth at:
[compcyz.fortunecity.com]
Also information for a memory map will be gathered there.
Thank you,
Cy

Hello All,
I may have a manual coming if it shows up as a nice person said he thought
he had one if he could find it.
I will update the Panasonic HHC memory map at [compcyz.fortunecity.com]
once I can extract the data from the manual after it arrives.
However if you find a manual I would still be interested in an original to keep
for myself as I have to return the one that may be on the way.
Any technical information about the internal registers of the keyboard, timer, and LCD controller chip made by Epson would also be helpful.
Thank You,
Cy

Any news on that SnapFORTH manual? I've been making slow progress on reverse-engineering. Snap code uses bytecodes (like p-code) rather than pointers as in a typical FORTH. A BRK instruction is used for 6502 code to transition into Snap code, with the Snap bytecodes immediately following the BRK. It appears that byte codes 00-bf are implemented in the system ROM, and c0-ff are implemented by specific option ROMs. Some bytecodes have inline arguments.

Hello,
I have not been able to do much with the SnapForth lately due to personal reasons.
Any thing you find out would be helpful.
The guy that said he had a manual has not found it yet I guess or decided not to
send it. He tries to divert me to work with a newer type of hardware when I call him.
The 00 - bf might be the built in snap and the others might be the code for the
added things in option roms?
You do know that the reset signal goes low with the display cycles that are needed
since the 6502 is powered down to save power between processors use periods.
There must be a memory location to tell what mode the hhc is in when re entering
the power on reset routine in each operation cycle controlled by the display chip.
A program to read cassette output to data in a PC would be really useful for making snap basic or snap forth programs.
Otherwise an RLP-8001 eprom programmer, serial interface, or other method would be
needed to get the data to put into eproms.
I downloaded some old 6502 forth version a while back to try to compare to the hhc.
The date of vintage are not too far off and some of the same authors are involved.
Thanks
Cy
